Even before he could see the world himself, his name was already decided upon. “Dylan”, dad thought, because “Bob” was his musical hero. “Sem and then Dylan” mum decided. Sem Dylan was born on November the 16th 1985. When he was four years old, he learned to play the guitar from his father, no children’s songs, but Dylan songs. One day, when father took Sem to a live concert of Bob Dylan, Jan (Pinkpop) Smeets spoke the legendary words: “And John working on the education?” And yes this set the lead in his education.


As a youngster Sem expirimented all kinds of music. Harsh, wild, hard and dynamic, but the tekst had always been written by himself. When writing, he literally wrote himself from one stage of his life into the other, thus making his own misic. Harsh became refined; wild became tender, and hard could also be soft. The Singer - Songwriter was born. His career is proceeding. He was seen a lot, but now he is being noticed. Sem Dylan is amazing in tekst and music. He touches and moves. emotionally, he is sometimes painfully recognizable.
