Joost Mulder (guitarist) grew up in Zwolle and left for Amsterdam when he was 18. He met singer Peter in the boys-choir in Zwolle. They decided to start a band together after they got kicked out while playing Nirvana during choir-practice.
Peter van Apeldoorn (singer) always felt caught in two different worlds. In the daytime he would go shopping with his mom and at night he would visit his dad playing accordeon in dirty pubs.
Leslie Borgers (drummer) was born and raised in Brabant. She met Peter and Joost while serving hamburgers at a Mc Donald’s. When they heard her drumming on soda cans using straws as drumsticks they asked her to join their band.
Diederik van der Harst (bass player) was born in Ecuador and raised in Het Gooi. When he was asked to play the bass on several fashion show’s for G-star-Raw he met the rest of the band who where also asked to play. While touring in Barcelona and Berlin Diederik did a whole show playing his bass backwards. Enough reason for the others to ask Diederik to join the band.
The rest is history, as MJ would say.
